Dr. Singh’s laboratory is dedicated to understanding the molecular and immunological underpinnings of chronic inflammatory diseases, with a particular emphasis on obesity-associated inflammation and colitis. The lab investigates how dysregulated immune responses within metabolic and gastrointestinal tissues contribute to disease progression, focusing on macrophage polarization, cytokine signaling, and epithelial barrier dynamics. By integrating in vivo models of diet-induced obesity and experimental colitis with advanced molecular profiling techniques, the team aims to uncover novel regulatory pathways that drive chronic inflammation. Ultimately, Dr. Singh’s research seeks to identify therapeutic targets that can mitigate metabolic dysfunction and intestinal inflammation, improving clinical outcomes in patients suffering from obesity-related disorders and inflammatory bowel disease.
